They invented a way to put out the fires Saddam set in Iraq then the rebuilt the Iraqi oil infrastructure. I'm sure they did it all at cost and didn't take over Iraqi oil production at all and they definitely didn't have any connection to the fires being set.
Was Saddam trying to leave OPEC by creating a currency basket exchange to buy and sell oil instead of just the dollar? That would screw SA because they have huge USD reserves
