As for The Purge, hell they even used an Ivanka doppelganger in that one. Only watched part, pretty sure the character they tried to peg as her was a total evil bitch, too.
They mirror, but distort that mirror. Same as 'As Above So Below' and the 'Upside Down' and all that jazz. They definitely want us thinking about these themes.
Also, isn't the party in The Purge called The New Founding Fathers or something? Just thoughts. Coming off a day shift that turned into a night shift (I swear I was doing a lot of other stuff, and yes outdoors KEK) so I might just be spitballing here.
I used to 'mirror' a lot. Aspies get that. Copying, to be 'normal.' Or just to get social cues or what have you.
