This is not about the Illuminati (which is much older). It is, rather, about the beginning of the movement known as "The Enlightenment."
"The Enlightenment" came out of Voltaire's narcissim, but also was based on earlier philosophical works that came about due to the industrial revolution and the new shifting view, bolstered by budding science, that the Universe is mechanistic and therefore does not need God to exist or to function.
Nice find, though, and I did enjoy reading it as I have always had an instinctive and deep hatred for Voltaire.
