Obama’s surveillance Hammer on Trump worse than Watergate

July 20, 2017

“The Hammer,” a secret government surveillance system, was allegedly used to spy on Trump, Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts and millions of other Americans during the Obama administration.

On June 5, whistleblower and former CIA/NSA contractor Dennis Montgomery filed a federal lawsuit [Dennis Montgomery, et. al, vs. James Comey, et.al.] against former President Barack Obama, former CIA Director John Brennan, former FBI director James Comey, former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper, the NSA, the CIA and other former and current government officials.

The suit claims that the defendants failed to investigate Montgomery’s whistleblower reports of illegal surveillance on Donald Trump and millions of other Americans.

Montgomery alleges that the U.S. government wiretapped 17 Trump businesses including Trump Tower, Trump leasing programs, Donald Trump himself and various Trump family members. All were wiretapped under the Obama administration. There has been a wiretap on Trump for years, according to Montgomery.

“The proof of Donald Trump being wiretapped is in the documents that were handed over to the FBI” Montgomery’s attorney Larry Klayman told reporters Fanning and Jones today.

Klayman is the founder of Judicial Watch and of Freedom Watch, which issued a press release about Montgomery’s complaint.

Although the suit does not identify the surveillance system by name, audio recordings released in 2015 by United States District Court Judge G. Murray Snow in Maricopa County, Arizona identify a secret government surveillance system called “the Hammer,” allegedly used to spy on Trump, 159 judges including Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts, and millions of other Americans.

Klayman reported that Montgomery indicated that the surveillance program also targeted late Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia, who was found dead at an exclusive Texas hunting ranch in 2016.

According to an audio recording of Tim Blixseth, whose ex-wife worked with Montgomery at Blxware LLC of Bellevue, Washington, “the Hammer” was used to wiretap Donald Trump “a zillion times.”

“Everything they said they didn’t do, that Brennan said recently, mainly Clapper. It’s all bullshit, and I’ve got it right here” says Tim Blixseth on one of the audio recordings.

A leaked CIA Information Operations Center document published in March 2017 WikiLeaks “Vault 7” dump identifies a CIA hacking tool called HAMR. A computer expert who worked for the military and a major government agency involved in defense who reviewed the leaked CIA document believes that the “Hammer” and “HAMR” refer to the same surveillance system.

Under grants of immunity obtained with the help of United States District Court Judge Royce C. Lamberth, former head of the FISA Court, Klayman brought Montgomery to FBI Director James Comey. “We brought Montgomery forward to FBI Director James Comey, through his General Counsel James Baker” Klayman wrote at Newsmax.

On August 19, 2015, Montgomery produced 46 hard drives and 600 million pages of evidence documenting illegal surveillance to the FBI. The law enforcement agency took possession of Montgomery’s evidence, giving Montgomery a receipt for his production of the physical evidence.

In Decembe 2015, Montgomery was debriefed for three hours at the FBI’s Washington D.C. Field Office, inside a secure room known as a Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF), where he gave a videotaped deposition.

Many of these events were detailed in a May 3, 2017 interview with Montgomery on Klayman’s new radio program “Special Prosecutor.”

Montgomery named names, specifically John Brennan and James Clapper. According to Klayman,“

“Montgomery laid out how persons like then-businessman Donald Trump were illegally spied upon by Clapper, Brennan, and the spy agencies of the Obama administration. He even claimed that these spy agencies had manipulated voting in Florida during the 2008 presidential election, illegal tampering that helped Obama win the White House.”

Montgomery states that Trump was wiretapped for years because, he alleges, the CIA feared Trump.

HAMR can “throw” browser exploits at iOS, Android, OSX and Linux hacking targets, according to the CIA Information Operations Center document. HAMR sends specified plugins from a collection of iOS plugins called “Wild Turkey” to targeted devices and installs (implants) them for surveillance operations.

Donald Trump may have used iPhones in the past, according to an analysis of his tweets published in Mother Jones

HAMR appears to be a massive supercomputer system that was used to listen to phone calls not by tapping into telecommunication carrier switching stations and fiber optic cables, but instead by deploying or “throwing” malicious plugins at targeted computers and smartphones to collect the intercepts and then send the data back to the master supercomputer framework.

Other plugins could presumably hack into online banking, messenger, email and other apps and then transmit the collected data back to the HAMR data center.

Dennis Montgomery, according to several of the audio tapes, rented, with $7,000 cash, a supercomputer at Lockheed Martin in Los Angeles to process and collate all the collected data, organized by phone numbers.

James Comey worked for Lockheed Martin as their general counsel and senior vice president during the approximate timeframe in which Montgomery claims to have used the Lockheed Martin supercomputer. Montgomery has made no public assertion that Comey had knowledge of his use of Lockheed’s supercomputer.

The audio recordings reveal that the the Hammer computer system was being operated out of a U.S. government facility. Montgomery claims to have built the Hammer while working for CIA Director John Brennan and Director of National Intelligence James Clapper.

Montgomery told Klayman that although he is under an immunity agreement, he feels compelled to speak out and reveal that while he worked for Brennan and Clapper, the two intelligence officials were running domestic surveillance programs under the Obama administration that illegally collected massive amounts of information, including bank accounts, chat sessions, and emails, on millions of Americans. The collected data is being used as leverage against Americans.

Senator Rand Paul, R-Ky., told ‘Fox and Friends” yesterday:

“We cannot live in fear of our own intelligence community. So, yes, absolutely from top to bottom we need a reform, and we need to go in and say the American people need to have oversight of this because we can’t let them listen to legislators phone calls or the president’s phone calls and blackmail the president. Something has to change.”

Klayman has stated that the nation hangs in the balance. Montgomery has emphasized that, in spite of his own personal and medical challenges, he is committed to exposing what he claims is massive illegal surveillance of Americans, carried out under President Obama, Director Brennan and Director Clapper.

General Thomas McInerney, USAF (Ret.) called the situation revealed by Montgomery “worse than Watergate.” Lt. Col Anthony Shaffer, US Army Reserve (Ret.) on Fox Business also described surveillance against Trump as “worse than Watergate.” Likewise, USA Today published an opinion piece referring to President Obama’s surveillance scandal as “worse than Watergate” and which also suggested that former Obama officials could face criminal prosecution.

Alan Jones and Mary Fanning are investigative reporters for the 1776 Channel and The American Report and are contributors to Breitbart and CommDigiNews. They were the first journalists to link Florida’s Port Canaveral to the father of Saddam Hussein’s rogue nuclear weapons program, as further detailed in a paper they published for Washington, D.C. defense think tank Center for Security Policy. Mary Fanning is also known for here series ‘The Betrayal Papers.’ In compiling this report the writers listened to the tapes and reviewed relevant Wikileaks documents.

China Has Its DARPA, But Does It Have the Right People?

https://thediplomat.com/2017/08/china-has-its-darpa-but-does-it-have-the-right-people/

China has the institution to fuse civil-military R&D. Now can it attract the necessary talent?

“Japan lost the innovation race with the United States because it lacked an institution with the strategic managerial capacity of the Defense Advanced Research Project Agency (DARPA),” a senior advisor to Japanese Premier Shinzo Abe declared four years ago at a Pacific Forum CSIS event in Taipei.

Japan, the adviser asserted, must learn from its mistake and set up a DARPA-like agency in Tokyo. Russian President, Vladimir Putin announced in 2012 that Moscow would launch a DARPA lookalike. Even the European Union, which has for the past decade been locked in a devastating institutional inertia, has since Brexit strategized ways to harmonize defense R&D and initiate a European version of DARPA. Assuredly, the United States’ DARPA has become legendary.

China is the latest great power to follow suit and fund its own version of DARPA. Earlier this year Beijing set up a “military steering committee on innovation,” which will emulate DARPA’s paradigmatic model and preempt any technological surprises detrimental to Chinese national security. The “Chinese DARPA” will report directly to the chairman of the Central Military Commission, President Xi Jinping himself.

A major success of the “DARPA model” has been its capacity to fuse the civil with the military; that is, to combine military and civilian institutions and incubate groundbreaking technologies. DARPA often works as a curator, coordinating the nation’s best scientific assets and thus “accelerating transformational technological advances in areas that industry by itself is not likely to undertake because of technical and financial uncertainty.” As Jay Schnitzer, a former director of DARPA’s defense sciences office once put it, DARPA’s job is to create the future, not to understand or to forecast it.

Xi’s China seems to be thinking with equal ambition about the future. Xi has repeatedly asserted the need for a “civil-military fusion” to shape disruptive future technologies and has doubled down on joint civil-military research projects by establishing a special civil-military integration bureau. The new military steering committee on innovation, China’s DARPA equivalent, is the pinnacle in this strategy. It can coordinate diverse organizations across the country, spot key scientific or managerial capital, and insightfully funnel the nation’s intellectual resources toward radical defense technologies.

China’s innovation learning curve has been steep. With tailored state support, Beijing has long copied the United States but has only lately leapfrogged and is now competing neck-and-neck in emerging technologies like artificial intelligence and quantum communications. Still, however, the scientific capacity of the world’s second largest economy remains limited compared to the United States. Only two Chinese universities – Tsinghua and Peking – are featured among the world’s finest and abundant state funding has yet to encroach on U.S. primacy in dual civil-military technology like microprocessors – a technology of immense value in the “Second Machine Age.”

Of the important variables used in assessing the innovation race between the United States and China, human capital is perhaps most critical. As Harvard’s Venkatesh Narayamurti put it last January at a Tsinghua lecture, innovation seems to be the child of a synthesis between basic and applied science, yet it is the availability of high quality human capital that makes the ultimate difference between the success and failure of high risk R&D projects. American private endeavors like Bell Labs as well as DARPA have been successful because they do not just invest in projects; they invest in highly capable and motivated people. Both feature a radical inclusion of the best talent they recruit.
