The National Museum of Brazil is going up in a blaze of glory so I wanted to dig on it. Here's what I found.

>generic wiki page

>this gaint bastard is there - Bendego Meteoritte 5260 kg

And then something weird happened… tried to go to the museum's homepage: 502 error O.o

Ok so let's try and find some of the exhibitions on rotation there:

>can't find anything past 2013

But I did find this….

https://

www.nytimes.com/2018/08/26/world/americas/queer-museum-rio-de-janeiro-brazil.html

And would you look at that? It's the one year anniversary for when the 'gay museum' is supposed to happen again. Could be nothing, could be something… connection?

"Had it gone as planned, an exhibition that opened last year in Brazil — which included a drawing of smiling children with the words “transvestite” and “gay child” stenciled across them — would likely have been a mere blip in the country’s lively art scene.

Gaudêncio Fidélis, the curator who assembled the 264 pieces that made up the “Queer Museum” exhibition, had expected at least a whiff of criticism for the art show. But nothing could have prepared him for the torrent of controversy that set off protests and shut down the exhibition within days."

A light dig but here you go. I was actually surpised by how little information is available on this place. Having worked in a museum before I know they love to advertise what is currently there and what is upcoming. The lack of any up to date calendar of exhibits is kind of a clue in-and-of itself.
