This is an extremely fascinating report of what occurred on the USS Fitzgerald in the immediate aftermath of the deadly collision. It's 41 pages and extremely detailed based on interviews with the Sailors involved. It provides insight into Navy procedures and training, and the heroic efforts made by these Sailors to save their fellows and their ship after a 13 ft x 17 ft hole penetrated the hull and sea water rushed in to fill the Berthing area within 30-60 seconds.
