Having milked cows on dairy farm when I was a kid in the 60s, there were things in the milking process that to this day makes me glad there's a pasteurization process. I know standards are better now, but back in my day, after pulling the pneumatic milking machine off the cow and emptying it into a stainless steel pail to take to the milk house to dump into the refrigerated bulk tank, you would walk by other cows being milked and when a cow has to shit, they do it, and cow shit is soft, diarrhea-likeโ€“it splatters. Sometimes little splatters would land up in the milk pail as you were carrying it. There were shitloads of flies too. Raw milk is good if the cleanliness standards are perfect.
