They needed a Gmail account.
Only credential required was userid and password.
If the userid/password was shared, then they would compose a draft and not send it.
Another person would log on to the account, read the draft, perhaps delete it, perhaps compose a reply, etc.
They were still interacting with a Gmail server somewhere over the internet, and therefore all the keystrokes they typed passed over the internet and could have been recorded by NSA.
The email drafts were not being sent to an SMTP email server for transmission/forwarding.
Guess they assumed this was not going to be intercepted by NSA because they bypassed using SMTP.
Guess they were wrong.
My theory is that the legislature already knows they are f*d. They will be compelled to vote & confirm Kavanagh while going through the motions of pretending to debate about it.
Q has announced that the DECLAS will happen and they know it. We just don't know exactly precisely when.
The threat hangs over their head.
It's possible that whatever congress does this week will be their last legislative act and then the body will be dissolved because so many will be seen to be totally compromised, and/or arrested for cause.
Well, that's just a theory.

I don't know that light is literal.
Light is that which reveals hidden things.
Actual light: sure, beam of sunlight illuminates dark corners.
Metaphorical light: examination by Inspector General, open hearings, secrets revealed and published, etc.
Evil fears light because evil thrives in secret, doing horrible things that the majority of humans would condemn. If the secrets become exposed the evil cannot continue.
