Ben Rhodes cont.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ben_Rhodes_(White_House_staffer)In the summer of 1997, Rhodes volunteered with the Rudy Giuliani mayoral campaign. In the summer of 2001, he worked on the New York City Council campaign of Diana Reyna.[8]In 2002, James Gibney, editor of Foreign Policy, introduced Rhodes to Lee Hamilton, former member of the House of Representatives and director of the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars, who was looking for a speechwriter.[5] Rhodes then spent five years as an assistant to Hamilton, helping to draft the Iraq Study Group Reportand the recommendations of the 9/11 Commission.[9]

In 2007, Rhodes began working as a speechwriter for the 2008 Obama presidential campaign.[10]

Rhodes wrote Obama's 2009 Cairo speech "A New Beginning".[11] Rhodes was the adviser who counseled Obama to withdraw support from Egyptian leader Hosni Mubarak, becoming a key adviser during the 2011 Arab Spring.[3]

Rhodes was instrumental in the conversations that led to Obama reestablishing the United States' diplomatic relations with Cuba, which had been cut off since 1961. The New York Times reported that Rhodes spent "more than a year sneaking off to secret negotiations in Canada and finally at the Vatican" in advance of the official announcement in December 2014.[12]

In March 2013, Rhodes declined to comment on his role in Obama administration policy decisions, saying, "My main job, which has always been my job, is to be the person who represents the president’s view on these issues."[3] In a May 2016 New York Timesprofile about him, Rhodes' colleagues in the White House said he spent two to three hours a day with Obama, and Rhodes himself said, "I don’t know anymore where I begin and Obama ends."[10]

Rhodes has been described as "at least one of the architects" of the Obama administration's supposed policy of inaction in Syria during that country's civil war.[13]

Rhodes was also a key player in the Obama administration's media campaign to build support for the Iran nuclear deal.[10][14]

Rhodes cont.

Rhodes appears light in background so maybe connection through

Kind of light, so is it the connection to Lee Hamilton?

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lee_H._Hamilton

In November 2002, George W. Bush nominated Hamilton as the Vice-Chairman of the 9/11 Commission, officially titled The National Commission on Terrorist Attacks on the United States. On March 15, 2006, Congress announced the formation of the Iraq Study Group, organized by the United States Institute of Peace, of which Hamilton is the Democratic co-chairman, along with the former Secretary of State (under President George H.W. Bush) James A. Baker III. Hamilton, like Baker, is considered a master negotiator.

Since leaving Congress, Mr. Hamilton has served as a member of the Hart-Rudman Commission, and was co-chairman of the Commission to Investigate Certain Security Issues at Los Alamos. He sits on many advisory boards, including those to the CIA, the President's Homeland Security Advisory Council, and the United States Army. Hamilton is an Advisory Board member and Co-Chair for the Partnership for a Secure America, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to recreating the bipartisan center in American national security and foreign policy. He is previously the president and director of the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars, and was appointed to serve as the vice chair of the 9/11 Commission. In 2000-2001, he served as the American member of the International Commission on Intervention and State Sovereignty, which prepared the U.N policy of Responsibility to Protect, adopted in 2005. He is also a member of the Board of Advisors of Albright Stonebridge Group.[1] He was appointed Co-Chair of the Blue Ribbon Commission on America's Nuclear Futurefrom 2010–2012 alongside Brent Scowcroft. He is also a member of Washington D.C. based think tank, the Inter-American Dialogue.[2]

Hamilton serves as a co-chair of the National Security Preparedness Group (NSPG) at the Bipartisan Policy Center.[3] Hamilton is a co-chair with Sandra Day O'Connor of the Campaign for the Civic Mission of Schools.[4]He also serves as an Advisory Board member for the Partnership for a Secure America and for America Abroad Media.[5]

On February 25, 2011, Hamilton wrote a letter to President Barack Obama urging him to commute Jonathan Pollard's sentence to time served. Pollard was serving a life sentence for providing Israel with classified information, without the intent to harm the United States, a crime which normally carries a sentence of two to four years. In his letter, he stated, "I do believe that he has served a disproportionately severe sentence." He also stated, "I have been acquainted for many years with members of his family, especially his parents, and I know how much pain and anguish they have suffered because of their son's incarceration." He concluded that, "commuting his sentence is a matter of basic compassion and justice.[6][7][8][9][10] Pollard was granted parole on July 7, 2015, and released on November 20, 2015.

On August 11, 2012, Hamilton's wife Nancy died in an auto-related accident; no one else was injured. Prior to her death, Mrs. Hamilton was an accomplished artist. In 1981 her oil paintings and watercolors were featured in an exhibit at The Commons and in 1984 she had a one-woman show at a Seymour art gallery.[11] Mrs. Hamilton also contributed thousands of hours at the INOVA Alexandria Virginia Hospital.[12][13]

For the clearance, have to take a look at the spouse too…

https://2009-2017.state.gov/r/pa/ei/biog/bureau/263313.htm

From 2005 to 2014, she served as Senior Foreign Policy and Defense Advisor and Legislative Assistant to United States Senator Barbara Boxer. In that role, Ms. Norris handled all issues relating to Senator Boxer’s responsibilities as a member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee (SFRC) and her chairmanship of the Subcommittee on International Operations and Organizations, Human Rights, Democracy, and Global Women’s Issues. Ms. Norris also worked as a Military Legislative Assistant to Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez.

or maybe his writing was it.

Israel – despite the fact that Israel was not part of the scope of the mission the Baker-Hamilton Iraq Study Group was given. Witnesses and experts called by the Committee were appalled.  Why did Rhodes distort the record? He seemingly was doing the bidding of his masters who have a history of animus towards Israel.  Rhodes had attended Rice University, where the James A. Baker III Institute for Public Policy is housed; it was headed by Edward Djerejian. Both Baker and his friend Djerejian (a former Ambassador to Syria) have pro-Arab records; criticism of and pressure towards Israel have been hallmarks of their careers.  Both Baker and Djerejian played key roles in choosing whom to hire for the Iraq Study Group and how the work was done.

Rhodes may also just be indulging his own pro-Muslim sympathies. He wrote Obama's infamous Cairo Speech. That paean to the Muslim world was filled with fulsome praise of Islam that were factually incorrect (Rhodes' post-graduate education, after all, was in fiction-writing and under Obama he seems to have finally found someone who will pay him for writing fiction).  The speech avoided references to radical Islam and was filled with platitudes about Islam. The speech highlighted a tougher line towards Israel and "credited" that nation's founding as due to European guilt over the Holocaust (ignoring 5000 years of history).

If there was clearance issue, it was bypassed by creating Rhodes position which did not exist prior, creating a necessity and need to fill the role in Presidential staff. I wonder who headed FBI at that time?
