Father Diego Berrío, STL, JCL
Our Parish as of July 1 2016 Father Diego L. Berrio was born in Ituango - Colombia on May 18, 1979, first born of Jairo Berrio and Stella Barrera. They are his brothers Ángela María and Carlos Andrés. Due to the commercial activity of his father, Father Diego attended different schools in his primary, secondary and high school between the city of Medellín and the region of Urabá in the department of Antioquia - Colombia. He studied Philosophy at the Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana in Medellín, courses he completed in 2003. He was immediately part of the 2004 class of Casa Jesús in the Archdiocese of Chicago. Later, he began his theological studies at the University of Santa Maria del Lago / Mundelein Seminary, graduating with a Master's Degree in Divinity and a Licentiate in Sacramental Theology and Liturgy, 2008 and 2009 respectively. He was ordained a priest on May 17, 2008 by his Eminence Cardinal Francis George. In his ministerial life he has served as parochial vicar in Santa Edna in Arlington Heights (2008-2011), Pastor of St. Domitilla in Hillside (2014-2016) and Judge in the Metropolitan Court of the Archdiocese of Chicago (2014- present). Father Diego also has a degree in Canon Law from the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome, an achievement he achieved in 2014. dberrio@archchicago.org
