Israeli raids targeting sites of the Syrian regime and explosions rock the armories and scientific research center (Photos)

Israeli air force launched a series of air strikes targeting the positions of the Syrian regime in the suburbs of Hama and Tartous led to huge explosions in some of the armories.

Six rockets landed in one of the mountain armories in addition to the scientific research center in the village of al-Marha, on the road of Musayaf-Wadi al-Ayoun, in the countryside of Hama, leading to huge explosions, while others fell in the Harf Benamra area in the city of Banias in rural Tartous, Identical field sources confirmed.

The sources added: The number of dead and wounded, including officers of the regime forces arrived at Musayaf national hospital.

The Syrian regime admitted the exposure of its sites to bombardment, where the official news agency "SANA" confirmed that explosions occured in Wadi al-Ayoun while the regime's air defenses claiming that they managed to drop some of the rockets.

In contrast, the Lebanese media confirmed that two Israeli warplanes fired missiles towards Syrian territory during the flight in the atmosphere of the areas of Keserwan and al-Metn.

It should be noted that the areas of the Syrian regime witnessed within 72 hours a set of explosions, including the targeting of the al-Mazzeh air base, but the regime claimed that it was caused by "electrical contact", and another raid hit Khalkhala airfeild in the countryside of Suwaida province.

UN special envoy on Syria warns against bombing rebel enclave

Staffan de Mistura echoes Trump warning against bombing Idlib, the last major rebel enclave

The UN special envoy for Syria, Staffan de Mistura, has said panic is spreading among the 3 million citizens of Idlib province as he suggested the Assad government and its allies had set 10 September as the date for a full-scale bombardment of the last large rebel enclave.

De Mistura pleaded with the Russian and Turkish presidents to “look each other in the eyes” and find a solution that avoids a humanitarian tragedy in the region.

Vladimir Putin and Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who have backed the Syrian government and rebels respectively, are due to meet in Tehran on Friday to discuss Idlib. De Mistura suggested that if their discussions fail, it is likely that as many as 800,000 citizens will try to flee the province, including over the border to Turkey.

The northern province and surrounding areas are the last major swathe of territory held by insurgents fighting the Syrian president, Bashar al-Assad, who has been backed by both Russian and Iranian forces in Syria’s seven-year-old civil war. It is held by a complex array of rebels and jihadists, many of whom have been blacklisted as “terrorists” by world powers. Syrian government forces are massing around the north-western province in preparation for the assault.

WATCH: Parkland Victim's Dad Claims Kavanaugh Wouldn't Shake Hands. That's Not What Happened.

Fred Guttenberg, whose daughter Jaime was killed in the tragic Parkland shooting, claimed on Tuesday that he tried to shake Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh's hand at the Senate confirmation hearing and that Kavanaugh blew him off.

That is not what happened.

Guttenberg tweeted on Monday: "I will be at Kavanaugh hearings and I hope to play a role in ensuring that this man does not become the next Supreme Court Justice."

The confirmation hearing was rowdy as dozens of activists were arrested for screaming and yelling in their attempts to disrupt and delay Kavanaugh's confirmation to the Supreme Court.

"Just walked up to Judge Kavanaugh as morning session ended," Guttenberg tweeted at the confirmation hearing. "Put out my hand to introduce myself as Jaime Guttenberg's dad. He pulled his hand back, turned his back to me and walked away. I guess he did not want to deal with the reality of gun violence."

However, shortly after Guttenberg tried to portray Kavanaugh as a heartless person who blew off the father of a shooting victim, video of the incident emerged.

"As Judge Kavanaugh left for his lunch break, an unidentified individual approached him," White House Deputy Press Secretary Raj Shah wrote on Twitter. "Before the Judge was able to shake his hand, security had intervened."
