Several bags of self rising flour, evaporated milk, and a big can of crisco can make a lot of biscuits. You can even bake them over an open fire or on a grill if you have a cast iron frying pan. Lots of cornmeal can make fried corn bread and cornmeal dumplings in chicken stock. Where I’m from we actually use the tops of green onions to make a broth and make “onions and dumplings”. Regular flour and water can be rolled out to make pastry (some people call them dumplings but our pastry is flatter than dumplings) and cooked with chicken stock to make chicken pastry. Lots of cheap eating there. We personally have a good assortment of guns and knives. But one handgun and a good rifle will take you a long way. A jug of bleach will purify a lot of questionable water. Praying for you pooranon. I’m rather poor myself but I was raised on the farm and my spouse is a master marksman so I’m not too worried. Most of all: make sure you’re right with God. That’s all that matters in the end.
