I look at the header on the top of this page and right now there are approx 24 posts per minute.
There is a virtual army of Anons and what if we were to bombard the media, gov or whatever with petitions to take action on the issues?
Look at the fantastic job the researchers here do.
If that research could be re-directed towards sources that could not ignore then changes would happen at a faster rate.
