This WaPo article looks like a threat to me. When I saw the museum fire in Brazil it looked like a threat too.

The Pope and Vatican have been under heavy criticism lately. Imagine what would happen if the Vatican libraries went up in flames. That was my thought at the time. They still hold this enormous piece of our history and any random "accident" could destroy it forever.
