Interesting thought, that Kavanaugh's next job is to replace Rosenstein.
He's already confirmed for Circuit Judge, so that makes him eligible I suppose.
And a promise of a seat on SCOTUS before Trump leaves office could be enough to get him to agree to leave his Circuit Judge position and spend a couple years draining the swamp and bringing law and order to the executive branch.
If Kavanaugh is serving already as Asst. AG after Rosenstein is fired, would the Senate still vote to confirm him for a later SCOTUS seat?
This doesn't seem too dangerous, as the R's should at least hold the Senate and maybe gain a little, so they can confirm someone else to Kennedy's seat, then Kavanaugh could wait for RBG to keel over.
