Sometimes, in order to win the war, you must crawl through the mud.

People seem to think that you are going to bring down the deep state using nothing but the most righteous of behavior. That you are going to look down from Pride Rock as holy sword meteors rain into to the craven Hyenas below.

But this avoids the reality that the traitor was your brother who deceived your son after you were assassinated.

Some can choose the high ground, and those who can do so are important. However, most have little choice under the rule of a traitor king but to play smart, if dirty, and keep good notes for that time when a righteous type can challenge the corruption.

I have begun to wonder, to some degree, how many people there actually are, or if our population statistics are horribly skewed in some manner beyond simple illegal migration.

Numbers just never seem to add up. Take a local area. How many businesses are there? How many jobs are available? How many people are stated to live there? Perhaps it is just my underestimating of local business and the impact of retirement (and people in this area tend to own property, so costs of living for those on the family estate, so to speak, are very low). But the numbers just don't seem quite right, somehow.

Many of my old friends and I are of generally similar mind - so we can discuss these types of things (even if I am more eccentric). But I have been wondering if a great many people are this sort of NPC existence of convenience, and the number of 'real people' is radically smaller than we realize.
