Indeed. The killbox is used in a variety of ways, and only consistently for a few of the "actors" in this grand play. There is a far greater need to convince the left that RR and RM are black hats than there is to convince the rest of us they are white hats.

That is, after all, how Trump operates.

I don't disagree with that. I just take issue with people asserting their conjecture as fact or "inductive logic." It is neither. We literally have no choice but to wait until we know more. Certainly we should demand that we be given more, but the current state of our union is not one that offers up that information.

I know my heritage back to the 1700s, and only a handful of people have the same last name as I do, all of which I know personally (well, except 1). I probably know of a half dozen people (public personalities) I resemble well enough for a stranger to think I'm either related to, or directly descended from.

This is exactly what I've been saying. We have no idea what "white hat" government officials were thinking in 2001. IF there was something fishy, and IF it was perpetrated by the government, what exactly were they going to do? For that matter, who was going to testify? What evidence would they get to see? Bad all around.

Why not just research the people that are implementing AI? They're out there. It's not nearly as dangerous as people make it out to be. None has passed a Turing test yet, and serious researchers (there aren't many) aren't too concerned. They know AI is very task limited, i.e., it works really well for the single-minded task it is programmed for. True "thinking" AI is quite a way off from current capabilities.

AI is useful. AI is what is used to run the bots that drive us nuts in here. It is also used to mimic very limited human behavior for silly demonstrations to the public. My favorite legitimate use is for video game baddiesโ€ฆ It's definitely better than the first time I looked into it 30 years ago, but still not about to take over the world. AI adapts to the thing it is programmed to adapt to. Humans, real people, have the ability to adapt to anything. Literally ANYTHING.
