My German is very, very rusty. I'll need to listen a few times and make notes. Some of what he says is slang.

He said some actors came to Chemnitz (Theatregrüppen). This after talking about driving and smoking cigarettes.

Sorry kids, I'll need to work on it quite a bit more. I've not spoken conversational German in 20 years.

The practical limits to using packet radio is that you should only send plain text and keep messages as short as possible.

On the 2m band, the speed is usually only 1200 baud AFSK without special radios. On HF (Shortwave) 300 baud.

OldHistoryHamFag reporting in.

I've modified my ham radio to be able to transmit on ANY frequency. Now, actually transmitting out of band is technically unlawful. But during SHTF, I'm willing to be flexible.

Ham radios don't use channels. We use frequencies. For ease of use, I've put the CB channels into memories in my radio so I don't have to find a chart and enter each time.

I'm adding other things like maritime frequencies that are HF.

Here's a map of the channel to frequencies for CB.
