I've always had a vivid imagination and can formulate great ideas; however, I suffer from some sort of cognitive dissociation where I cannot stay on one task but rotate through too many things and lack focus.
Some call that lack of focus ADD or ADHD and there are many who don't believe it's a real condition. I certainly dont agree with how doctors prescribe adhd medicine to kids considering their brain is still developing so that is probably not a good thing at all.
A lot of people have been diagnosed with ADD or ADHD in America and it's troubling to see that. What is causing this??
I'm an adult in late twenties but have suffered head injuries over the years; 2x4 to the forehead, head hit tree root protruding from ground during fight, other fights, and as a child my dad sometimes smacked the back of my head so hard I flew out of my chair at dinner table. So maybe my ADD is from my head being rattled so much?
Anyhow, I see that the opioid medicine is being singled out and they are clamping down on its use which I can understand, but I hope they don't do the same thing to adhd medicine.
Since I've been on my medicine I've been able to focus on work, enroll in college and now have some since of direction.
Medicine I take is called vyvanse and it works better if I take it after eating greasy foods like those microwave sausage biscuit with a piece of cheese. That medicine metabolizes in the liver but needs enzyme that is derived from protein or fat if I recall correctly. And most importantly have to drink a lot of water otherwise dehydration causes foggy brain.
Bottom line is I really hope they don't ban add medicine I'm really concerned about this. It has changed my life for the better.
