what i've found to be interesting is to compare the spectrum of anti-Presidential feeling for Dubya and Drumpf.
Now, people might not remember, but before 9/11, George was widely mocked as a complete dunce (also after, but much less so).
All the tropes were there, about being an embarassment to the world, etc, etc.
And yet, when there was a similar surge regarding Trump, it immediately felt different to me: something was off. Too big, too exagerated, too much coming from institutions and media not to ring an internal alarm…
Whereas there was something organic and natural in the reactions to W (which were mostly squashed by institutions once the orders were given to help with the image of serious leader), the overwhelming smell of astroturf of the anti-Trump hysteria, in itself, resounded like a warning: this is not right, just like the perfect uniform choruses of media after a fresh tragedy/false flag… you don't know what went down yet but you can just tell it's not what they're selling
