Kavanaugh touched his pocket Constitution at least 378 times during confirmation hearings

Kavanaugh’s pocket Constitution is so old, he says he had to write in the 27th Amendment, which wasn’t ratified until 1992. Eagle-eyed viewers may have also spotted the handwritten notes and pages that occasionally fell out during the hearings.

But Kavanaugh has a fresh pocket Constitution waiting for him if his copy completely falls apart.

“When I met with Senator [Dianne] Feinstein (D-Calif.), I wish she were here, but she saw this and … she gave me a new one,” Kavanaugh said. “So if this falls apart, I told her I would use her copy.”
