Pence ‘more than willing’ to sit down with Mueller

Vice President Pence on Sunday said he is “more than willing” to sit down with special counsel Robert Mueller’s team as part of its investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election.

“I would,” he said on CBS's "Face the Nation" when asked if he'd agree to an interview with investigators. “I would be more than willing to continue to provide any and all support in that. And we have outside counsel that will advise me accordingly.”

Dem senator: 'Absolutely no national security issues' with anonymous op-ed

Sen. Mark Warner (D-Va.) on Sunday said he sees “absolutely no national security issues” with last week’s New York Times op-ed by an anonymous author claiming to be part of the “resistance” against President Trump within the administration.

“I wish that whoever had written the op-ed would have revealed their identity, but I see absolutely no national security issues,” Warner said on CBS’s “Face the Nation.”

Warner’s comments came after Trump last week called on the Department of Justice to investigate the identity of the writer of the op-ed, arguing that it is a matter of national security.

Warner added on Sunday that he believes the White House is “in chaos” and that Trump is “becoming more and more untethered.”

He pointed to a number of incidents in recent months, including Trump’s summit in Helsinki with Russian President Vladimir Putin, the convictions of Trump’s former associates Michael Cohen and Paul Manafort and the president’s reactions to the op-ed and journalist Bob Woodard’s upcoming book about the Trump administration.

“It appears the walls are closing in on this president,” Warner said.

Gold Star wife Brittany Jacobs issued a stark challenge to former 49er and new face of Nike, Colin Kaepernick, suggesting Sunday that they ought to meet her and her son at Arlington National Cemetery.

“They can personally look in the eyes of my son and see what a dear sacrifice was made,” she explained, “and they can look around and see thousands and thousands of people who also sacrificed everything for something that they believed in.”

Jacobs told “Fox & Friends” host Pete Hegseth that Nike had made a poor choice in Colin Kaepernick, saying, “To me it’s upsetting. This is a man who knelt before the flag that my husband and that me and my son we love, it’s so dear to us. My husband did sacrifice absolutely everything for the flag, for the country and for all that it stood for. To see someone who knelt before it be able to say that he sacrificed everything, it’s hard. It’s sad. It’s not right.”

“They could have chosen anyone,” she continued, “and they chose a person who disrespected the flag. If they could look at my son for a moment, look at his eyes, they would see a dear sacrifice. There’s so many great men and women in this country who have sacrificed everything. Colin Kaepernick is not one of them.”

Jacobs lost her husband, Marine Corps Sergeant Christopher Jacobs, in a training accident in 2011 — and her son Christian was famously photographed meeting President Donald Trump at Arlington on Memorial Day in 2017.
