Every organization and/or operation has a variety of roles that must be filled in with personality types
Think of types of people:
Super smart PhD high IQ types who nonetheless can't remember where they parked
Super sensible common sense types who can grasp a situation and find solutions, despite no formal background
Calm people who are good at keeping everybody from going nuts
Nurturing types who are good at taking care of everybody's basic requirements
Super loyal people who'll work hard even if they're not very bright
Super outgoing people you can shove out front to do the talking, only need to be reasonably bright
Greatest chance for success when you have all types on the team.
Takes a bunch of ingredients to bake a good cake.
Short attention spans are another negative result coming from the comped education system.
Young minds are pliable and can be coached to allow the capacity for longer periods of focus.
However, children do require periods of physical activity. Remember when "play period" was eliminated?
Oldfags remember unplanned play time built into the school day. We were allowed to go play on the swings etc, or do whatever we wanted.
When we came back inside, everyone cooled down (this was in the South), got a drink of water at the fountain, and we were ready to settle down.
