Dependency on drugs was part of (((their))) plan, so they had a way to slowly kill people and put them in corrections.
Have you ever had your mind played with, drug addiction makes your brain tell you and your body, "If you don't have this substance, you can't function, you'll be in pain and you'll die."
Starts out harmless, but the second your brain decides it likes something, your brain becomes animalistic and tends to not sway to the side of reason. In fact, many addicts are aware it's slowly killing them and would like to stop and try to, but their brain tells them otherwise.
It's a good movie, not complaining, although highly distracting kek.
