As this thing gets closer it is important to remember that hurricane force winds extend approximately 50 miles from the eye of the hurricane. All images the mockingbird media shows are either satelite or radar images that give the impression that storms are huge. They are, but it is important to look at the windstorm field images and map them to the exact landfall location.

Hurricanes are an amazing scare tactic. It is important to be able to know where the windstorm damage will occur.

Storm surge and flooding are a huge problem on a much larger footprint, but hurricane force winds are much more limited in scope.
