Lucky Larry Silverstein Wants MORE

$4.55 Billion Not Enough! March 21, 2009

Larry Silverstein, remember him? In case you don't remember, he's the big time New York PRIVATE "developer" who got the $2 billion dollar settlement from insurance claims arising from the destruction of the World Trade Center. The largest settlement in US regulatory history, bringing his total take from the insurance claims to $4.55 billion. He got that money in May of 2007.

But that wasn't enough for him. And now, almost two years later, he's back for more.

Let's all take a step back and remember who we're dealing with here. This is the guy that made the call to "pull" building 7 on September 11, 2001. This is the guy that wants to rebuild the World Trade Center. Acccording to the Reuters article: "The plan calls for five skyscrapers, a memorial, a transit hub, a shopping mall and a performing arts center, much of which was expected to open between 2011 and 2013." My question to you Larry is, "So what?" Isn't a "private" developer responsible for coming up with the money for his projects from investors and the like?
