But it is rampant among youtube christians and people in general who do not read the bible for themselves and make any effort to look up the meanings of the words in their original language.

You can play back and forth all day, arguing over the meaning of scriptures in the english language. Accusing each other of being wrong and hell bound. Hebrew scholars for the jewish masoretic text have to stop every other line and add a footnote that "original meaning of hebrew not known" "original meaning of phrase unknown" etc…

One does not simply interpret ancient hebrew. Even the experts are fucking flummoxed on the majority of it. Sheol is translated in the king james as Grave sometimes, and as Hell at other times. I forget the exact number, google it. Then look up all the other translations. Pull out your ESV if you have one, and notice the massive number of missing verses.
