All I know is that I exist, there is a God, and Jesus is God's messenger. Other than that I'm open to ideas.
Some Gnostic's and followers of Plato et al believe that there is a Supreme Transcendent God. This God assigned a lesser God, the "Demiurge" to create our universe, Earth, and us. This Demiurge is the God of the Old Testament. The Demiurge made several mistakes along the way. 1) He made the universe too hastily 2) he gave Lucifer too much power 3) he claimed he was God 4) he tried to cover up his mistakes.
Because of the Demiurge's mistakes, the Supreme God sent Jesus to set things right. This explains several contradictory statements made by Jesus. He denies being the messiah when asked outright, yet claims he was sent by his "Father." When his apostles make the claim he is the messiah he doesn't deny it. That is because he is the messiah, just not the one promised by the Demiurge. Jesus was sent here to set up the rescue plan by the Supreme God to defeat Lucifer. While the Demiurge is a benevolent being and is still in charge of this world. He does intend the best for us. But because of his mistakes he is stuck here to execute Jesus' plan to fix the world.
