I like to think of it as character alignment. With each action/decision that we take/make, we align ourselves towards or against God's intent.

If we are working with God, (or the Infinite Divine, if that's what you like calling it [as I do]), then God is probably going to want to keep you around for as long as possible, because you're reliable and faithful.

If you don't align yourself with God, then you become an issue and,eventually, God has to remove you from the chess game, so that Its pieces can move more freely.

Ultimately, every action has a time, a place, and a purpose; and the only way to know for sure where those align is to ask God. Otherwise, it's a 'gamble'.

God is willing to talk; it is even willing to be berated and argued with. I have done it and so have others. God doesn't have an ego, so it allows its Children to talk to it however they please as long as it's beneficial to its cause.

God doesn't want slaves and God wants to be considered an equal, though God will accept whatever crown that you decide to give it; no matter if it's made out of tin or gold.
