China's response to pretty much every every religion has been to confiscate all books and other religious materials and send practitioners to re-education camps. They do this to Christianity too.
Ayn Rand was a transsexual. He was originally born as Aaron Randberg in Imperial Russia. From an early age, he loved femininity (some say he fetishized it) and wanted to achieve it himself. At the same time, he was a fiercely rebellious young man, attracted to the freedom that free market economics could provide.
His real turning point was during the Russian Revolution where he saw angry communists destroy his family's property, lives and legacy. It was at that moment that he became dedicated to his twin activist causes: to advance transgender freedom and to advance economic freedom.
He emigrated to the United States and started writing prolifically. A major theme of his (now "her") works was a bizarre, aggressive form of free market capitalism.
He eventually adopted a young bottom twink named Nathaniel Branden. Later efforts to paint over this relationship as being a strange, but ultimately straightforward "cougar" relationship had mixed results.
