I don't know. I have to look at everything differently. The connections matter, but it may be like the old Communist Party structure described by Whittaker Chambers in Witness about Alger Hiss and the Communists in the 30s and 40s.
The agents within the party didn’t know each other. They even used false names with each other to prevent any single informant from getting too much information and taking down more than a small portion of the pyramid. An agent reports to his superior and gives tasks to those directly beneath him. If you remove an agent, he won’t be able to inform on parallel agents in the structure because he doesn’t know who they are, what their activities are, and may not even know their real names.
But everyone still wants to know who is in “the club”. That’s where the symbols come in. They need to identify themselves to each other by their symbols and signals, just like masons and all of the other secret societies. But, once identified as co-religionists as it were, they still don’t know what roles they all play in the overall structure.
This may be why Q says they need to work top to bottom and bottom to top. It’s a vertical structure where the parallel actors don’t know each other’s roles.
Agreed. That book really opened my eyes to how slanted our history is and how much brainwashing we get in school.
I only thought of McCarthyism as a witch hunt before.
