I'd gently suggest that we may have set our own (unrealistic) expectations regarding timelines.
If they've been grooming POTUS for years, who's to say that they didn't give him the same 8 year run that Hussein had (to destroy our country) for Trump to restore it? Rome wasn't built in a day and this is a FAR bigger operation than Rome was.
If we stop, step back, breathe and analyze, 6-8 years makes one hell of a lot more sense than 1-2 years.
