IMO, it would be SELFISH for POTUS to DECLAS when so many people's lives & property are in danger. His concern is for the American People as it should be, we should appreciate that.
That's not only being professional or presidential,
It's being a MATURE and RESPONSIBLE MAN.
We're not talking about BHO here, who in POTUS Trump's shoes would have declassified ASAP, just to save his own skin.
I personally thank POTUS for prioritizing and putting US before himself.

POTUS could very well declassify with little fanfare while this is all happening, and the news cycle would get hijacked anyway with his every action being in the spotlight. It's wise o let this play out, make sure that the people get what they need, & THEN get back to politics.

You make some good points, a new emergency can distract from the plan, and could continue to. Eventually that would need to be sidestepped in order to get back to/stay on track. A hurricane or few with so many people being affected is simply not the time IMO. Again, it (DECLAS) could very well happen during or between hurricanes, just not with the desired impact, and with shitty optics for POTUS, which will definitely be take advantage of by the left. Timing truly is everything, and this simply isn't the time, no matter how we feel about it.
Putting on the Armor of God before getting on here always helps. We all (minus shills & detractors) have been guided here someway somehow because of who & what we are, & the good always outweighs the bad (which is why they have to work so hard for little results). We have a LOT to learn from POTUS & how he's handling all of this, practically rolling off of his back because his Armor can't be pierced. We've got this, or we wouldn't even be here to begin with.
