Federal Deficit Jumps 32 Percent Amid Booming Economy
The federal budget deficit grew to $895 billion for the first 11 months of fiscal year 2018, according to a Congressional Budget Office estimation released late Monday.
The estimated deficit grew by $222 billion, or 32 percent, over the shortfall recorded during the same 11-month period in fiscal year 2017, and comes amid a booming economy with the number of Americans filing for unemployment benefits hitting its lowest level in nearly 50 years and GDP growth of 4.2 percent in the second quarter of 2018.
The national debt when President Donald Trump took office was $19.9 trillion and has since surpassed $21 trillion.

Congress To Vote On Whether To Ban You From Eating Pets
Republicans and Democrats are voting Wednesday on bipartisan legislation that would ban the consumption of dogs and cats.
Republican Rep. Vern Buchanan of Florida introduced the H.R. 6720 on Sept. 6, and was scheduled to be taken up by the House a week later. If passed, the legislation would penalize violators by fining them up to $5,000 per infraction, reported The Washington Examiner. The bill also has specific exemptions for certain Native American tribes, who might consume dogs and cats for religious ceremonies. (RELATED: Dem Rep. “My Democratic colleague, [Rep. Alcee Hastings of Florida] and I hope to pass our bill next week protecting dogs and cats from being killed and sold as food,” Buchanan tweeted. “These beloved animals provide companionship to millions of people.”

Jail inmates using roach poison to get high, Florida sheriff says
POLK COUNTY, Fla. – The Polk County sheriff is warning of a dangerous new "drug" that's gaining popularity inside the jail system.
During a news conference on Tuesday, Sheriff Grady Judd said people are spraying roach poisons, like Raid and Roach Motel, onto paper and smuggling it into county jails. Those papers are then eaten or smoked by inmates as a dangerous way to get high.
"Who would think to do this?" asked Judd. "When the chemicals are infused on the paper, then they eat it or smoke it. Are you kidding me?"

2 Mexican Teens Plead Guilty For Their Role In Deadly Human Smuggling Case
LAREDO, Texas — Two illegal aliens from Mexico pleaded guilty Monday for their roles in an alien transporting scheme which resulted in death.
On Sept. 10, a judge accepted the guilty pleas of Mario Emiliano-Herrera and Julio Cesar Lopez-Nino, both 19 and from Mexico, for their role in transporting illegal aliens, resulting in a death.
On March 7, a ranch foreman notified authorities that a body was found on the property just 1.5 miles north of the Rio Grande River. The deceased male was identified as part of the group Emiliano-Herrera and Lopez-Nino lead. According to witnesses, the victim could no longer keep up with the group, at which time Lopez-Nino kicked him repeatedly and left him behind.
