So I'm in the path but a decent bit inland and people are absolutely freaking the fuck out. Like store shelves are totally empty. I was talking with someone I know about what would it would look like if something ACTUALLY happened. I'm always prepared for a few weeks…bottled water, I usually keep a good stock of frozen meat in the fridge and dry stuff like potatoes and rice. I'm not a prepper but it's not hard to just keep a little extra on stuff that lasts a while. I think they are trying to incite panic because they know how weak willed Americans are in general and they're so unhinged by all of the propaganda programming. Idk exactly what the goal is but there is a small sense of panic.
As for where they are getting the numbers…they could be doing it intentionally which is the most likely. Least likely would be a huge error not converting to mph or taking the readings from the atmospheric speeds instead of surface.
