School brings back paddling as form of student discipline

AUGUSTA, Georgia – Students at the Georgia School for Innovation and the Classics are returning to their classrooms with a new policy that is reinstating an old-fashioned form of discipline, paddling.

"In this school we take discipline very seriously," said GSCI Superintendent Jody Boulineau.

If parents choose to opt out of paddling, they have to agree to up to five days of suspension

Former minister Davis: UK will reset Brexit plans after Salzburg

Former Brexit Secretary David Davis said he expected Prime Minister Theresa May's government to change course on Brexit after an informal meeting of EU leaders in Salzburg next week.

Davis said the current Brexit proposals from May would only be acceptable to the EU with European Court of Justice oversight which British negotiators would be unable to agree to.

"So my view is they'll end up in a different place, a reset, after Salzburg," Davis told reporters. "My view is the best option is Free Trade Plus."

Watchdog sues DOJ for Anthony Weiner's emails

A conservative watchdog group is suing the Justice Department for all the materials the FBI recovered from former New York Rep. Anthony Weiner's laptop before the 2016 presidential election.

Judicial Watch announced on Tuesday that it was taking legal action against DOJ under the Freedom of Information Act after the agency denied two information requests pertaining to the records seized in September 2016.

Judicial Watch's lawsuit follows RealClearInvestigations reporting in August that the FBI reviewed only 3,077 of the almost 700,000 emails found on the laptop as part of its search for evidence related to claims Weiner had lewd exchanges with a 15-year-old girl.

California governor's race poll shows Trumpster John Cox closing in on leftist Gavin Newsom

If California Lt. Gov. Gavin Newsom was expecting an easy race for the governor's mansion, a poll released Thursday didn't carry much in the way of good news.

While the statewide poll from Probolsky Research showed Newsom leading with 44 percent of respondents, his Republican opponent John Cox had 39 percent support; a further 17 percent of those polled were unsure whom they would support.

So all the pundit claims about Cox running in an unwinnable race, due to the Democrats' voter registration advantage, seem to be falling apart.

Putin says Russia knows real identity of men accused by UK over poisoning

President Vladimir Putin said on Wednesday that Russia knew the real identity of two men accused by British prosecutors of trying to murder former Russian spy Sergei Skripal and his daughter Yulia in Britain.

British prosecutors last week identified two Russians who they said were operating under aliases - Alexander Petrov and Ruslan Boshirov - who they said had tried to murder the Skripals with a military-grade nerve agent in England.
