Report: Las Vegas professor shot himself in arm to protest Trump

A longtime College of Southern Nevada sociology professor is facing felony gun charges in connection with an on-campus shooting on the second day of classes.

One college employee told police that he held Bird’s hand to calm him down as others tried to stop the bleeding. While waiting for authorities to arrive, Bird said he had shot himself in protest of President Donald Trump, police noted in their report. The report did not elaborate.

Yea criminal has to occur first. Well, the investigation at least (kill a burglar, cops say good shoot, then family sues). Looking at that…I can't even tell if it's a header or what but rape isn't a civil offense. Half (OK, maybe not half, but quite a few) of the offenses listed are criminal. Assault, another one. And the respective torts are different. Can't even sue for rape, just IIED. Can't sue for murder, but there is wrongful death, loss of consortium, blah blah. Example, OJ was acquitted but still got dinged in that wrongful death action.

Never prosecuted, unfortunately. Garden variety sedition, defendant pleads First Amendment then it becomes bitchy after that but with such blatantly seditious activities, proving it up shouldn't be an issue.
