I'd say this is pretty weak stuff, sorry. I played the ME series, and it's pretty much a remix of a lot of standard sci-fi tropes. Even if Drew Karpyshyn had something deeper to say in the story arc, he left before finishing ME2, and ME3 turned to shit in story terms.
