Then in January 2004, Cheney and Justice Antonin Scalia came under fire for a duck hunting trip in Louisiana that raised conflict of interest questions. The two were together just after the Supreme Court said it would hear an appeal on whether Cheney’s energy task force had to disclose its notes. Scalia did not recuse himself from hearing the case, and in June 2004, the court ruled 7-2 not to order the Administration to publicize the details, but sent it back to a lower court for further consideration.
