80 foot waves around the eye wall where winds are 150+ mph over open water doesent seem like much of a stretch. your average bearing sea typhoon cant create wave of 30 to 50 feet with winds under 100mph.

if its a cat 4 it has sustained winds up up to 156mph. which means the gusts in the strongest part of the storm, the eye wall, can be even higher. do you know how hurricanes work anon?
