WHAT IS THE HIGH FREQUENCY ACTIVE AURORAL RESEARCH PROGRAM (HAARP)?

The High Frequency Active Auroral Research Program (Haarp) is an ionospheric research programme based in Alaska.

It was established to analyse the ionosphere, a region of the upper atmosphere, and investigate the development of ionospheric enhancement technology for radio communications and surveillance.

The station regularly uses a tool called the Ionospheric Research Instrument (IRI), a high-power radio frequency transmitter facility operating in the high frequency band.

It is used to temporarily excite a limited area of the Ionosphere.

Observation of the processes resulting from the use of the IRI in a controlled manner allows scientists to better understand processes that occur continuously under the natural stimulation of the sun.

>Haarp is jointly funded by the US Air Force, the US Navy, the University of Alaska, and the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (Darpa).

Haarp has been the subject of numerous conspiracy theories.

It has been blamed for hurricanes, thunderstorms, major power outages and more, but no convincing evidence supports any of the claims.
