There's nothing said here or anywhere else about the errant penguin being gay. Get a grip.
Penguins are fantastic open ocean navigators who can travel great distances and still find their way back to an individual nest in a massive colony.
This indicates that penguins, like many other migratory species, are exquisitely sensitive to earths magnetic field, using it to navigate, sometimes very precisely.
However, earths magnetic field is changing. "Earth's magnetic field is rapidly fading, by almost 16 percent since the year 1840. It is still not clear what controls the observed changes and if such changes are a sign for a complete magnetic reversal to happen soon, as suggested by some researchers."
