Hmm. Just about everything these guys do should be watched closely, but this actually sounds pretty good. Montessori is actually the best method for pre-school, and its focus on individuality runs counter to "progressive" methods that emphasize groupthink and pack mentality.

Yeah, that's a risk at just about any school, public (especially) or even private.

 

I guess I'm just pointing out that the fact these new preschools will be Montessori is interesting, given that it's pretty much the polar opposite of the kind of early childhood education most of us would find concerning.

 

Put another way, to the extent they are truly "Montessori" in terms of the classroom methods for instruction, there will be little room for indoctrination. So if that were the goal, it seems an odd choice to be making right off the bat.
