Then how’s this:
If the content of “acceptable” political opinion is manipulated leftwards over time, people who used to hold opinions that would have been mainstream, and entirely consistent with those of JFK, are now left hanging to the far right or beyond the edge of the Overton Window.
Back in the early 60s, many of us would have been constitutional, patriotic Democrats. But we’ve been so left behind in the leftward shift in political opinion that we’re now considered goosestepping Blackshirts.
