Ever wonder why some Christian Anon's question entire sections of the Bible, rather than just take the entire thing at face value start to finish???
The Bible is a collection of manuscripts found all over. Depending on what translation you are using, verses will either be changed drastically, or removed entirely. Many versions are worded differently but similar, yes, but take for example the catholic dhoey rheims edition.
Let us take one of the most important sections that sets the tone for everything else that unfolds. Genesis 3:15. (i could spend the next two months comparing verses and the differences, but that's your fucking job, if you care to use your discernment)
How most of the Christian world is used to reading this passage goes something like this:
Genesis 3:15 King James Version (KJV)
15 And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise HIS heel.
VS
Genesis 3:15 Douay-Rheims (catholic)
15 I will put enmities between thee and the woman, and thy seed and her seed: she shall crush thy head, and thou shalt lie in wait for HER heel.
The gender roles change in this key verse. This changes everything. Those who know the importance of this verse and what it is implying will understand just fine.
This is your first giant red flag.
Keep in mind, that the catholic church up until the reformation and the invention of the printing press, had TOTAL lockdown on the "bible". The public was strictly forbidden by punishment of horrible torture and death, from reading it for themselves. This was the case for hundreds and hundreds of years. Do you think they may have added things into and out of the canon during this time??
Have you studied the council of trent or any of the councils and the decisions made? The early church fathers?? YOU MAY NOT NECCESARILY AGREE WITH THEIR CHOICES. If you are serious about the truth, you should fucking check-that-shit.
There is a reason some of us prefer the red letters of the main Gospel in the new testament (Matthew, Mark, Luke and John) and treat the rest of the bible with caution. Personally I still think people should read the entire thing, but STILL, please for the love of all things good in this world, USE DISCERNMENT. These manuscripts were controlled by the wonderful, loving minds that brought you the INQUISITION and those lovely torture chambers you've heard about.
These "people" took torture to a level practically unseen anywhere else. It's fucking awful how creative they got with their inventions. Do NOT let them decide what you believe. Use your God given discernment. Do you think Jesus condones this??? Do you think our God condones human sacrifice and murder of entire populations of innocent women and children as a form of revenge???
