One of the more curious aspects of this is, being this large of a "disaster", yet, no tweet or acknowledgement from Potus. Lots of strange things about this whole situation
Yes, possibly. Gas builds up in the house, hits the correct air to gas ratio, gets introduced to an ignition source: doorbell, fridge compressor or any other spark and BOOM. If the explosion is violent enough, there is a chance of little to no fire. If all the available oxygen is consumed in the explosion, there may be no fire. Locally couple years ago, had one at a Fire Dept. I worked at, literally blew the house up off the foundation and that was the only sign that anything had happened. Gas fed fires and explosions aren't always the Michael Bay Hollywood fire and flaming death.
The process is similar to how Red Adair put out oil well fires with dynamite and explosives. explosion consumes readily available oxygen, fire deprived, and the chemical process can no longer sustain burning.
