Just saw the post with the Red Cross tweet, and it reminded me of this.

 

A number of years ago, a tornado ripped through a Midwestern city. Lots of apartments, businesses, and homes affected. The Red Cross came in with "supplies".

 

They were charging the firefighters and victims for bottled water and food. Source: friend of mine who was in charge of logistics to get water and food when his fire chief told the Red cross to go fuck themselves. Local businesses donated lots of food/water.
