At its most intense, I didn't once see wind speeds exceed 100 mph on https://earth.nullschool.net/#current/wind/surface/level/orthographic=-47.74,35.01,269

 

With the typhoon, on the other hand, I did see wind speeds of 125 mph, but it is diminishing in power now with top wind speed of 105 mph

Well, heat is the fuel for the engine of a cyclonic storm and the is relatively small, so a fleet of planes may just do something to increase its power.

 

Not a solution that would have occurred to me, however.
