Massage turns off the sympathetic nervous system (fight or flight) & activates your parasympathetic nervous system (rest & digest) a shortcut to a meditative state of mind if you find it difficult to get there yourself. If massage isn't for you, find other healthy ways to release the tension that builds up mentally, physically, emotionally, etc.
