My brother used to take home economics and cooking in high school.
The guys teased him a lot, and I asked him if it bothered him,

I don't think a woman (or man) should choose to stay home with the kids, unless they have an education, trade or career they can fall back on.
Otherwise, it really is best for the children and smooth running of the home to have someone there.
My whole life, I saw women staying home, spotless homes, loving their children and husbands…..
And then the husbands would fuck around. Either person a man or woman who is out in the world,
has more temptation. Lunch meetings, drinks after work, etc.
Then when the spouse working outside the home leaves the spouse,
the spouse at home is up shit creek with no income coming in except child support which leaves you in poverty.
That is the ONLY drawback to the person at home.
I worked with a whole group of LCSW for about 9 years,
and they each were nut cases in their own way.
I don't need to look into it. I owned my own business.

I was married 30 years. But, both of us could support ourselves if we needed to.
I think often, people go into psychology because they have problems,
or had problems while growing up. It may be why they are interested in psychology to begin with.
My brother was a major narcissist and ended up a psychologist.
He quit after about 10 years, cuz it wasn't about him and he had to listen to others.
It was just prestige for him.
